Dr Baxter performs operations for skin lesions which involves either simple excision. Sometimes the surgery or the repair is more complicated with skin flaps with skin grafts to cover the defect created by removing the offending lesion. Your general practitioner usually will make the diagnosis which may be biopsy or excising the initial skin abnormality and will send you to see Dr Baxter for definitive surgery (making sure that the lesion does not recur or has adequate excision margins depending on the type of cancer). The surgery usually can be done as a day case and sometimes may require hospital care or stay and this will be determined at the time of the consultation. You will be advised of this.
